her home economics class. From that day forward,
Esther’s passion was making candy. Esther would take
chocolates to her co-workers at a department store
in downtown Dayton, Ohio. After starting her family
in 1926, these same co-workers encouraged her to
continue making candy for them to buy. The word about
Esther’s delicious candy spread and in no time she
was selling it to department stores and businesses.
Thus began what is now recognized as one of the finest
